Saba Belay Named Working Mother of the Year at Zoetis

Saba Belay, Director, Business Analytics, in Zoetis’ Parsippany, N.J. global headquarters, was named the company’s Working Mother of the Year. Saba has two young children: Abigail, 6 and Adam, 4.

A native of Ethiopia, Saba began her career with Zoetis in 2015, and has played a key role in developing advanced data analytics that help the company’s U.S. Commercial teams track sales performance and gain valuable insights into customer purchasing behavior. “My passion is figuring out how to be data-smart in order to make good business decisions,” said Saba. “I'm always looking for opportunities to make things better, easier, and faster. Colleagues at Zoetis are really open-minded, so I am never afraid to present new ideas."

Saba has a consistent record of high performance and achievement. In her four years at Zoetis, she earned two promotions and has been the recipient of many accolades, including the company’s prestigious U.S. President’s Excellence Award. Saba has also been instrumental in mentoring new colleagues, as well as leading a Business Analytics internship program with graduate students from Columbia University and Rutgers University.

“I feel very fortunate to work for a company that not only encourages colleagues to take on new and exciting challenges to grow their careers, but also offers mentorship and leadership training opportunities that help them achieve their goals,” said Saba. “I have had the privilege of being personally mentored by executive team member Kristin Peck, who leads U.S. Operations, Business Development and Strategy at Zoetis, and is a mom herself. Kristin is committed to cultivating confident women leaders who embrace their authenticity and lead positive change in the business. I’m a living example of this. Many of the recent accomplishments in my personal and professional life were made possible because Kristin is a leader who firmly believes that mentoring young employees drives success.”
