Zoetis Strengthens U.S. Diagnostics Network with New State-of-the-Art Reference Laboratory in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY – May 14, 2025 – Zoetis Inc., the world leader in animal health, announced its newest and largest diagnostics reference laboratory at the UPS Healthcare Labport facility at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and state representatives. This strategic expansion represents a significant milestone in Zoetis’ ongoing investment in diagnostics innovation, aimed at advancing animal care through faster, more precise, and more accessible testing services for veterinarians and pet owners across the United States.

Positioned for Speed and Impact

The new lab spans 32,000 square feet and is co-located at the UPS Healthcare Labport, adjacent to UPS Worldport—one of the world’s largest integrated logistics hubs. This end-of-runway location enables Zoetis to receive diagnostic specimens quickly and deliver timely results to clinics across the country.

Through its strategic partnership with UPS Healthcare, Zoetis is enhancing access to comprehensive diagnostic testing, including cytology, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, histology, and more—all from one central, high-throughput lab. This expansion allows Zoetis to serve more clinics with speed and scale, building on its commitment to scientific excellence and veterinary partnership.

Growing With Purpose

The new lab is part of a broader vision to meet increasing demand for diagnostics and deliver on Zoetis’ purpose: to nurture the world and humankind by advancing care for animals. Since 2019, Zoetis has integrated several leading reference lab providers—including Ethos Diagnostic Science, Phoenix Lab, and ZNLabs—into a unified diagnostics portfolio. Louisville has since emerged as a cornerstone of Zoetis’ U.S. reference lab network.

The new lab is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony welcomed local and state leaders, including Governor Beshear, and representatives from federal offices. UPS Healthcare partners and Zoetis leadership joined Zoetis colleagues to commemorate the milestone.
