LEATHERHEAD, UK – September 24, 2026 – Zoetis UK Ltd. today announced the launch of Lenivia® (izenivetmab injection) in Great Britain, a long-acting monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy designed to deliver up to three months of osteoarthritis (OA) pain alleviation for dogs with a single subcutaneous injection.
Backed by a decade of science and research, Lenivia demonstrated a sustained reduction in pain in a pivotal nine-month European field study, with effects observed from as early as Day 7 after the first injection5. Lenivia targets nerve growth factor (NGF), a recognised mediator of pain and inflammation, and binds to a different site on NGF versus already commercialised anti-NGF mAbs5.
Nearly 40% of dogs of any size or age may be affected by osteoarthritis pain1, 2, a chronic and progressive condition that can lower quality of life. OA pain can erode a dog’s mobility, sleep, behaviour and social relationships6. As dogs and cats live longer due to advances in veterinary care and nutrition, the number of senior pets is growing3,4. With age, conditions such as osteoarthritis become more common, highlighting the need for effective long-term pain management options7,8.
For veterinary professionals and pet owners alike, chronic conditions like OA are rarely managed with a single approach.
